Our trip to Boquillas, Mexico

The sign advising us
of all the do's and
don'ts.

This was the oar man for
the Boquillas ferry

This is the transportation to beautiful
downtown Boquillas

Taken from the balcony where we had lulnch

The local bar.
Was closed though

got back to the USA

Waiting on customs

Customs was a kiosh that we
put our passport on and then
the phone rang.  Was someone
in El Paso and they asked a few
questions and then said
welcome back.

Nature Trail at Rio Grande Camp grounds

Path to the Overlook

They put a sign out so we would know
that we were at the overlook

Bet's said the water was cold, but
wishes she had her sandles on
as she would wade

The scenery was fantastic on the
nature trail

as long as the wind is
blowing

This Windmill is not in
working condition.  We had drove to
Terlingua to check out RV sites.  Liked
what we saw

Dogs are not permitted in the Park
with out being on leashes and can only
be in the areas streets or parking
lots.  Just in case NPS reads our blog
will not mention where this is

One of the many roads that
are not that well taken care of, but the
sign did say 4 wheel drive would be
needed

And here is the chauffer for the day

Hot Springs, Big Bend Natl. Park

Here is the General store
in downtown Hot Springs

And of course there needs to be a
5 star Hotel

There used to be a enclosed spa here,
but this is all that is left of it.

The water was quite warm.
about 105 degrees

Boquillas Canyon

Here we are headed up the
trail for Boquillas Canyon

View of the Rio Grande behind
Betsy

Betsy looking at the
mortar holes where
they ground their grain
many years ago

Betsy trying to survive the wind in
the canyon area

Don't know who "Jesus" was, but
was probably to windy for us
to even hear him across the
river

These flowers were surving the wind
quite well, looks like spring
is juts around the corner

This was our rest area

This was the Boquillas port of entry
the INS person is like an ATM
machine, which we found out later

This was the start of the
Boquillas Canyon trail

Getting settled in

Dude and Lulu were
wore out after all of our hiking
around the area

El Pico's which are over one
mile high

We took a panoramic of this area of the Rio Grande
