This is a view of Lake Cle Elum
We visited the Roslyn Historical Cemeteries.
There are many areas in the cemetery that are divided by ethnic, organizations and religions

This is a view from the upper section looking down

This section has many children that died due to epidemics. Also miners that were killed in major mining caveins.

This is Lake Easton.

This was our coolest adventure yet!! A whale watching boat trip out to search for Orcas. We came across K pod (the name given to the family of orcas) and followed them for about an hour until they crossed over into Canadian waters.

When the tide is out in Birch Bay we can walk way out look at stuff! Across the bay is Mt. Baker which still has quite a bit of snow on top. These are some lazy seals on the dock who barely mustered the energy to look at us!!

We found this small

preserve almost by

accident. It was created in memory of 3 men who were killed in a petroleum plant blast a short distance away. It was a nice walk thru the woods and then down to the beach. It was quiet, green and very peaceful.

This view is across Birch Bay at sunset....very beautiful!!

Slug Alert!! Dude did not like the flavor of these ugly bugs!

We see some really weird critters in the campgrounds.....mutant black squirrel? The dragonfly hung around on our awning for rest.
Here we are at Birch Bay State Park

The following pictures are posted backwards in time. Sometimes blogging is confusing for us old fogies and we get it all mixed up. The last pictures shown are of the Civil War Enactment that took place at Little Diamond RV Park near Newport the very weekend that we camped there. It was pretty neat to hear the talks and see the battles. On July 12th when we left Newport, WA behind we headed west towards the ocean. Our first stop however was just a bit short of the ocean but involved lots of water nonetheless......Grand Coulee Dam. You know Ed and his water stuff.....he just loves it!! We took a tour of the dam and stayed up one night until 10pm to see the nightly laser show. It doesn't get dark up here in the summer until very late so we are becoming night owls. Boy, will that all change during winter at home.....early to bed, early to rise!!
Just a short jaunt away from Grand Coulee, we stopped and camped at Crescent Bar TT Park for a few days. It was nestled down in a little curve of the river and was great for water sports such as boating and jetskiing....but we didn't have either. Oh well, we found things to do and visited another dam called Rocky Reach, toured the Ohme Gardens (a beautiful Eden created out of a barren hillside years ago) and visited wineries. We had some warm days during this time but that changed with our next stop up in the Cascades off I-90 called Lake Easton. Pictures will be posted of this area soon!!
